SALONE NEWS 2007 in Milan vol.18
Ron Arad

This is a work presented at the theatre of D&G. They say the support of the D&G owner realized this presentation. All kinds of chairs are exhibited in Salone, some works of which are half-boiled art, some of which are only for their rational functions of chairs and some of which are ones hiding their vulgarness under the cover of the term, ¡ÆConceptual¡Ç. Among such variety, I don¡Çt think we can find a chair that hits us with such a strong impact as this chair. It barely manages to be a chair but calling it a sculpture may appear to be more proper. Such a great presence as this chair gives us makes me remember the works of Shiro Kuramata. His greatness is also to be ever remembered.
The price of the works of Ron Arad is as high as from 6 million yen to 7 million yen a piece. This is actually the price for a piece of sculpture art. I hear there is a sales representative in Japan so if you want one, you can get it. They say there is only one person that can make this piece of art.
