A modern expression of the traditional Japanese craft of cast iron. The knobs of tea kettles of traditional craftwork created by artisans have been used in their original forms. The pots, which come with a base that is an important part of the unified overall design, can be a gentle addition to the dining table. A filter attached to the inside allows the pot to be used to serve Japanese or western tea, or even to enjoy hot or chilled sake. The design is a compilation of the traditional and the modern.

Braziers and kettles used for tea ceremonies used to be the main products made with cast iron. Now that we are seeing the demand for such items is dwindling, we must find a way to apply the cast ironing technique to contemporary goods used for everyday living. The products sold in this section began when KUROKAWA found a great number of kettle lids and knobs left in stock, and was hit with the idea of using them as parts of contemporary style iron kettles.
The kettle lids and knobs are quality craftwork themselves.
KUROKAWA borrowed the integrity of such quality work and incorporated it into my own design. One might call it “compilation design.”
